Amberflo Metering Cloud
Monetize APIs, Platforms, Marketplaces, and more...
A fast and accurate, fully-managed, enterprise-grade Usage Metering Service. Single API to Instrument and Meter any resource in real time.
- New Signal types and rules
Signals can be applied to both usage and billing data with fine-grained controls for defining rules and conditions. The default signal is delivered via email and via a Webhook (that you can configure to get notifications directly into an application of your choice and take automated action).
Amberflo allows you to create signals across the following dimensions:
- Usage - notify based on meter usage
- Prepaid Credits - notify based on the amount of Prepaid Credits remaining
- Invoice - notify based on the total invoice amount
- Product Item Usage Limit - notify based on the usage of a particular product item
- Product Item Charge Amount - notify based on the invoice amount for a particular product item
- Define Signals across users and customers
In addition to the new Signal types, Amberflo allows users to take fine-grained control over the scope and application of their Signals. Amberflo allows you to define the scope of any Signal in three ways:
- Each customer separately - notify if rule is true for any customer
- Entire customer base as a whole - suppose the rule is 'Greater than 1000 API calls'; then notify when the 1,001st call is made by any customer
- A specific customer - notify if rule is true for customer X
Amberflo Billing Cloud
Real-time, on-demand Usage-Based Metered Pricing and Billing
Delight customers with flexible Usage-Based Pricing (UBP) and drive highest levels of revenue and product adoption.
- Create usage “limits” in Pricing Plans
Amberflo now allows you to easily set "limits" for Product Items in Pricing Plans using functionality from Signals. Suppose there is some Pricing Plan where 10,000 API calls are included with the Standard Plan, but if the usage surpasses that limit, then an additional charge is imposed.
Amberflo allows you to handle common usage-based monetization strategies like these by creating a Signal to notify with an associated webhook that can take some downstream action (such as advancing the customer to a higher-tier plan).
- Tax handling and integration with TaxJar
Our integration with TaxJar allows us to automatically resolve taxes on each invoice sent to customers. Enabling tax integration during invoice generation in Amberflo will automatically sync tax collection with Stripe for payments. We have included a step-by-step guide for configuring the integration in our documentation, linked here.
